2024 Lillian Butler Davey Awards

Entries are now being accepted for the Lillian Butler Davey Communication Awards!

All Entries are due Thursday, April 11th at 3:15pm
(Drama entries for Magic Circle are due by Monday, April 1 at 3:15pm)

Prizes awarded: First place $200, Second place $100, Third place $50.  

Winners and their guests will be invited to attend a ceremony on June 4th at 5:30pm.

Descriptions of Categories

Rules

  1. The competition is open only to students of Greenwich High School.
  2. A student may compete in more than one category.  (See category description for limits, if any).
  3. Every entry should be submitted on the official entry form.
  4. Any student who enters the competition must certify that the entry is that student’s original work.
  5. All written entries must be double-spaced;  word-processed.
  6. Every written entry must have a title for identification purposes.
  7. All film entries must be submitted on a DVD or private (YouTube) link. 
  8. Any entry must be the work of a single-student, except for the film category in which collaboration is allowed.  Collaborators will share an award equally between them.
  9. Each category will be judged independently of others.  Each category will have one first prize winner, one second and one third.  Honorable mentions will be at the discretion of the judges.  A student may win an award in more than one category.  The decision of the panels of judges will be final. 
  10. An entry or a winner will be disqualified if any of the above rules are violated or ignored.
  11. In the event a winner is disqualified, the judges will select a new winner.
  12. A student may submit an entry that has been submitted to another competition held outside of Greenwich High School.
  13. By submitting an entry, the student thereby gives permission for a public presentation of the entry, if it is a winner in its designated category.
  14. Winners and their guests will be invited to attend a ceremony on the evening of June 4th, 2024  at 5:30 p.m. in the GHS Media Center.
