Science
Program Overview:
The GHS Science department provides a comprehensive program designed to meet the needs of all students. With over 35 different courses, our science course offerings rival that of small colleges. Core courses include biology, chemistry, and physics, all taught at multiple levels to accommodate all students. GHS also offers many elective courses, including popular courses in marine biology and forensics. We also provide six different Advanced Placement (AP) courses and two UCONN Early College Experience (ECE) courses. Finally, GHS is proud to house an award winning science research program where students regularly produce projects that compete favorably at national and international science competitions. Beyond the curriculum, opportunities are available for student participation in club activities, field trips, meetings with scientists, and team and individual competitions with students from other schools.
