Softball
Program Overview:
The Greenwich High School softball team is comprised of a varsity, junior varsity and freshman team. Varsity plays a 20 game schedule and competes in a postseason FCIAC and State tournament. JV usually plays 14 games. Freshman play 6-10 games.
Time Commitment:
Varsity practices 3 times per week and has 3 games per week.
JV practices 2-3 times per week and games are 2-3 times per week.
Freshman practices 2-3 times per week and games are 2-3 times per week.
Varsity and junior varsity have games during April break. It is your commitment and responsibility to your team and coaches to attend every practice and game, which includes April break.
Every player must be registered on the Greenwich High School athletics site and have an up to date physical before tryouts.
Required Equipment:
A softball glove is required for tryouts and the season. Covid-19 restrictions may require each player to have their own bat and helmet this season. Guideline for softball bats will be provided in the near future.
