Graduation
Date & Location:
-
Thursday, June 15th at 5:00 pm at Cardinal Stadium
-
In the event of inclement weather, two ceremonies will take place in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) on June 15th. At 4:00 pm, students whose last names begin with L-Z will graduate. At 7:15 pm, students whose last names begin with A-K will graduate.
-
The decision to move to an indoor ceremony will be made by 12:00 pm on graduation day. An email will be sent out to all graduates and parents/guardians. It will also be posted on the GHS website.
Tickets:
-
No tickets are required for the outdoor ceremony.
-
If the ceremony is inside, each family will receive electronic indoor graduation tickets. See "Indoor Ceremony" below for more information.
Length of ceremony:
-
The ceremony is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Parking:
-
Parking is limited and is available on the premises and along Hillside Road.
-
Additional parking is also available at Central Middle School where shuttle buses will provide transportation to and from GHS. They will begin one hour prior to the ceremony. The last shuttle will be 45 minutes after the ceremony ends.
-
Our neighbors at Christ Church and Temple Shalom are also allowing us to use portions of their parking lots. Please be advised, there will be parents picking up young ones at this time so please be extra careful in the parking lots.
-
If you are considering using a ride share service for drop off and pick up, that should be done at Greenwich Country Day School or CMS and then take the shuttle to GHS. Hillside becomes one way after the ceremony so no taxi, Uber, Lyft drivers, etc. will be allowed to drive down Hillside for pick up.
Handicapped Parking and Seating
-
Most of the handicapped parking will be in the south lot, accessible through driveway #1.
-
There is a smaller handicapped lot directly off the Post Road as well.
-
Only cars with handicapped permits will be allowed to park in these areas.
-
There will be a golf cart shuttle service from these lots to the field; some walking will be required to the seats.
-
If you do not have a handicapped permit but would like to drop someone off in the South Lot to access the shuttle service, you may.
-
-
Once at the field, there will be handicapped seating available on the track. To accommodate everyone, we ask that only one companion accompany the person. For example, if you are a group of six - the person who requires handicapped seating plus one companion will be able to sit on the track. The other four people in the group will be asked to sit in the bleachers.
-
There is also handicapped seating in the bleachers on the home side.
-
At the end of the ceremony -
-
We ask for your patience as it will take some time for the golf cart shuttle to get everyone back to their cars at the same time everyone else is leaving the stadium.
-
There will be designated pick up areas on the home and visitor sides.
-
Seating:
-
For the outdoor ceremony, seating is on a first come, first served basis. There is also plenty of standing room. Gates will open 45 minutes prior to the ceremony.
Photographs:
-
It is not necessary to leave your seat to photograph your senior! There will be a professional photographer at each diploma platform to photograph each graduate.
USA FOTO will be taking pictures of the graduates receiving their diploma and offering them for purchase online. You will be able to view them within 3 to 5 days of the event and place orders for a variety of print sizes and products. All products are 100% money back guaranteed. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, simply return the items for a full refund. No need to worry about ordering as the graduates will receive a link taking them directly to their pictures sent via email and text to the people listed on their Graduate Information Card provided by them at the school. Pre-orders are not accepted as we want you to see your images before ordering to be sure you are pleased with your purchase. If you have questions regarding the ordering process, please give us a call at 1-800-USA-FOTO or email us at manager@usafoto.com
Make sure your senior completes the Graduate Information Card provided by the school with accurate email and cell phone information as this is how the notifications for ordering will be sent out. They should not be using their school email.
They will receive and complete the card at graduation rehearsal.
Live Stream:
-
The graduation will be live streamed. The link will be posted on this page the day of the ceremony.
After the Ceremony:
-
Parents are asked to have a predetermined meeting place with their child that is outside and not at Cardinal Stadium. Graduates will be going back inside the school to pick up the diplomas. Graduates only have 30 minutes to do this. They will meet you at your predetermined meeting place afterward.
