School-based Community Resources

The GHS Educational and Wellness Center connects students at GHS with a number of community agencies that support students and families needing help.  Agencies include, but are not limited too, the Liberation Program, the Boys and Girls Club, the Rowan Center, the YWCA, and Kids in Crisis.  Below, see information regarding some of the services available.  

YWCA Harmony Project - Friday from 12:00 - 1:25: 
Valentina Ramirez is the Violence Prevention Coordinator for the Harmony Project at YWCA Greenwich. Through this program, students will raise awareness about healthy, unhealthy, and abusive or toxic relationships. For more details about the program, please visit the Harmony Project of the Greenwich YWCA.  

Liberations - Monday and Friday from 9:00 - 11:00: 
Ms. Mangines offers counseling for individuals dealing with substance abuse. You can reach her at heidi.mangines@liberationprograms.org if you would like to contact her outside of regular hours.

Family Centers Social Worker - Jen Salop: 
Ms. Salop, LMSW, serves as an outpatient therapist at the school and is available to students during school hours. She offers all students on-site, confidential mental health support, regardless of income or health coverage. Additionally, Ms. Salop can help connect students to psychiatric services and medication management through Family Centers. All services provided by SBHC are entirely free. Parents must enroll their child using the Family Centers online enrollment form, (available in English and Spanish; paper copies can also be requested). Filling in the Blanks:  
Filling in the Blanks provides weekend meals to eligible children in need. For more information, please visit the Filling in the Blanks website, and if you wish to register, fill out the Filling In the Blanks Online Registration Form.
